Tony founded Tyrus Capital in 2009. Prior to this, Tony was Global Head of Event-Driven Strategies at Deephaven Capital Management. Before joining Deephaven in 2006, Tony spent six and a half years at Lehman Brothers, firstly in investment banking where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and then as a proprietary trader managing an event-driven strategy. In September 2018, Tony was appointed as a member of the Hautes Etudes Commerciales ('HEC') Paris International Advisory Board, providing advice and guidance to HEC and assisting in its strategic development. Tony has an MSc in Finance from the HEC in France and a BSc in Computer and Communication Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
Stathis joined Tyrus Capital in 2010 from the investment funds group of Simmons & Simmons, where he qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and was promoted to Managing Associate in 2008. He has a wealth of experience in the structuring and servicing of investment funds and investment managers and was involved in setting up the Tyrus Capital funds and management entities in 2009. Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, Stathis spent two years as an officer in the Cypriot Army. He holds an LLB (Hons) from King's College (University of London) and an LLM (Distinction) from Georgetown University in Washington DC and is a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales.
Gunter joined Tyrus Capital in August 2012 as Head of Private Equity. Prior to Tyrus Capital, Gunter spent five years in senior positions in AlpInvest Partner's European secondaries team, where he was responsible for deal sourcing, structuring and execution of transactions, portfolio management as well as developing and raising AlpInvest's first co-mingled secondaries fund. His previous experience includes 10 years in investment banking at Lehman Brothers. Gunter holds a master's degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.
Jeff joined Tyrus Capital in June of 2023. Previously, from 2020 to 2023, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Kula Investments, LLC. From 2009 to 2020, Jeff was the President of Pentwater Capital Management, a global event driven hedge fund. From 2000 to 2009, Jeff was a Managing Director at Deephaven Capital Management, a global multi-strategy hedge fund. Jeff graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Phi Beta Kappa, with an A. B. in history and from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis with an MBA in finance and accounting. Jeff is a Trustee and Board Member of the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago, serves on the Investment Committee of the Francis Parker School of Chicago, and is a regional cabinet member of Washington University in St. Louis.
Robert joined Tyrus Capital from Tyndaris. Prior to Tyndaris, Robert served as General Counsel and Compliance Officer of a London-based manager with AUM over €2 billion in private funds, UCITS and managed accounts. A solicitor of England & Wales and attorney of the State of New York with more than 14 years of experience, Robert spent over 7 years in private practice at Allen & Overy LLP and Dechert LLP. Robert holds a JD from the University of Virginia, fulfilled a Fulbright Fellowship in Poland and has a BA in philosophy from Brigham Young University.
Graham joined Tyrus Capital at launch in 2009. He previously worked with Tony as a trader at Deephaven which he joined in 2006. He was previously a Managing Director at ING Bank NV, where he was Co-Head of the Event-Driven team. Before this, he was Head of Convertible Sales and Research at NatWest Markets, which he joined in 1993 after seven years as a convertible bond salesman at UBS.
Mario joined Tyrus Capital in November 2015 as Portfolio Manager. Prior to that, he was Chief Investment Officer at Dubai-based Belhoul Investment Office and before that, Investment Manager at Waterloo-based Inter-IKEA Treasury. Mario has developed a 17-year track record in Private Equity spanning across sourcing, analysing, structuring and executing primary and secondary transactions covering developed and emerging markets. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2003, he worked as Investment Analyst in the Merchant Banking team at Lehman Brothers in London. Mario holds a bachelor degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a master degree in Business Administration from Ecole Superieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in Paris.
Imo joined Tyrus Capital in 2019 from Starz Real Estate. Prior to joining Starz, Imo worked for Tyndaris and Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he started his career in the EMEA real estate, gaming and lodging investment banking team and later moved to the European real estate structured finance group. He has wide experience in structuring and executing public and private real estate transactions across asset classes, jurisdictions and investment products including senior loans, mezzanine and preferred equity, loan-on-loans and securitisations. Imo holds a BSc in Business Administration from EBS University for Business and Law in Oestrich-Winkel, Germany.
Enrique joined Tyrus Capital from Tyndaris. Prior to joining Tyndaris, Enrique worked for Kildare Partners and H.I.G. Capital as part of their distressed principal investments team, having started his career at Houlihan Lokey in their special situations group in Europe. He has extensive knowledge in structuring and executing real estate and corporate transactions across asset classes, jurisdictions and investment products including preferred equity, mezzanine and senior debt, NPLs, secondary loans and direct equity. Enrique holds a BSc in Business Administration from ICADE University in Madrid.
Damien joined Tyrus Capital from Tyndaris where he headed the convertible business. Prior to Tyndaris, Damien was the portfolio manager for Global Convertible Bonds for several entities of the Deutsche Bank group in Frankfurt with USD 4.5 bn of assets. Previously, he was a founding member of Vega-Chi Ltd. covering European and Asian Convertibles operations and at JP Morgan as a member of the EMEA Convertible Trading & Arbitrage team. Damien is an Actuary with his research thesis on "Convertible bonds: models & strategies" from the University Claude-Bernard Lyon I in France in partnership with the Institute of Actuarial Sciences and Insurance (ISFA). He also holds a MSc in Finance & Investment from Queen Mary University.
Sally joined Tyrus Capital in October 2013 as a member of the Investor Relations and Marketing team. Prior to this she was at Stone Milliner Asset Management, a global macro fund that spun out of Moore Capital and launched in 2012 with $1bn. Sally joined the Fund at launch and was part of a team of two focused on Investor Relations and Marketing. Prior to this, Sally spent two years at ACPI Investment Managers as an Associate on the Alternative Investment Team and three years working at GAM on the Multi-Manager team. Sally has a BA in Business Economics from the University of Reading.
